- I created this for a friend who went off to Iraq. The meaning of Xochiyaoyotl is "Flower War" in Aztec. It was a ritual war that occurred often between the Aztecs and neighboring tribes where they would capture soldiers to sacrifice to the gods. This painting has a lot of meaning for me.
